What We Do for Homeowners

Most days we are putting up new systems, including roof-mounted solar, for homeowners looking to cut their electric bills. We also install home batteries that keep the essentials powered during a grid outage. For homes that already have panels, we repair systems that are producing less than they should and clean arrays coated in dust and pollen.

  • Gloved technician testing wiring inside an open disconnect box with a yellow multimeter on a stucco house wall, conduit and a tool bag nearby

    Solar Repair

Diagnosis and repair for inverters, wiring, damaged panels and monitoring problems, with photos of what we find and a written estimate before work starts.

    Panel Cleaning

Careful hand cleaning with purified water and soft brushes, plus a quick look at your panels and an output check before we leave.

    Roof-Mounted Solar

Panels bolted into your rafters with flashed, sealed mounts, tidy wiring and a roof check before anything is drilled.

About Addison Solar Installation

We are a local solar company that works on homes across Addison and the towns around it. We work from a simple idea: homeowners should not have to chase three different people to find out where their project stands.

That is why one person handles your job from the first visit through the final walkthrough. They know your roof, your panel layout and your schedule, and they are the one who picks up when you have a question. It keeps things clear for you and keeps mistakes from slipping through the cracks.

North Texas summers are long and bright, which is good news for solar, but hail and heat are hard on equipment. We design and install with that in mind, and we stick around for repair and panel cleaning long after the install is done.

From First Call to Power-On

This is how a job moves from your first call to the day the system starts producing. The same contact is with you at each stage.

  1. 1

    Talk it over by phone

Share what your home is like, what your bills run and what you want from solar. We answer what we can and book a visit.

  2. 2

    Home visit and roof inspection

We take roof measurements, note shade, check the shingles and look over your electrical panel. Anything that could affect the work, you see in photos.

  3. 3

    System plan and line-item estimate

We map the panel layout, size the inverter and any battery, and hand you an itemized estimate. There is no rush, and every question is welcome.

  4. 4

    Paperwork and install day

We take care of the permit and utility forms, then call you to set your install date. The crew attaches the racking, places the panels, wires the system and tidies up before they go.

  5. 5

    Final approval and switch-on

Once the city signs off and the utility approves, we start the system and teach you to use the monitoring app to track your daily production.

What Sets Our Work Apart

A solar project pulls in a designer, a permit office, the utility and a roof crew. We make it easier by putting one person in charge of all of it, and that person keeps you up to date.

The same contact the whole way

Whoever walks your roof at the first visit is who you call during permitting, install and inspection. Nobody new needs your backstory. When plans shift, that person is the one who tells you.

Liberty Mutual Platinum Safety Award

Our crews earned the Liberty Mutual Platinum Safety Award. Most of the danger on a solar job is up on the roof, so fall protection, secure ladders and safe electrical work are built into how we work every day.

Estimates that are easy to follow

Panels, inverter, racking, any battery and electrical work each get their own line. You see where your money goes and can question any item before you commit.

Honest repair advice

If your system is underperforming, we show you photos of the problem and tell you whether fixing it is worth it or a part is simply worn out. When the cause is just a loose connection, we tell you that.

Care for your yard and home

We cover walkways and plantings, run wiring neatly and collect every scrap of wire and packaging before we go.

What Shapes the Cost of Solar

No two homes need the same system, so we price each job after we have seen the roof, the electrical panel and your past electric bills. Here is what moves the number up or down. We will walk you through each one when you get your quote by phone and again at the site visit.

We start with a phone conversation, then visit your home to measure and inspect. Your written estimate breaks out every part of the job, so there are no surprise charges at the end.

How much power you use
Your past twelve months of electric bills tell us how many panels it takes to cover the share of your usage you want to offset. A bigger system costs more up front and produces more.
Roof layout and shade
South- and west-facing roof planes with little shade produce the most. Steep pitches, many small planes or tall trees can mean more racking, more labor or a different panel layout.
Roof condition
Panels stay on a roof for decades, so the roof under them matters. If we see worn shingles or damage, we tell you before installation so you can have it addressed by a roofer first rather than pay to remove panels later.
Your electrical panel
Some older main panels do not have room or capacity for a solar connection. If an upgrade is needed, it shows up as its own line on your estimate.
Battery storage
Adding a battery raises the cost, and the size depends on what you want to keep running during an outage. A battery for the refrigerator and a few circuits is very different from one that backs up the whole house.
Permits and utility approval
Every system needs a city permit, inspection and approval from the utility before it can be turned on. We handle that paperwork, and any fees are listed on your estimate.

What Homeowners Want to Know

How much can solar cut my bills?

That hinges on how much power you use, your roof and your electricity plan, mainly how your provider credits the power you send back. We go through your past bills and estimate production honestly. A believable number is more useful to you than a flashy one that falls short.

Do I have to replace my roof before getting solar?

Not necessarily. At the site visit we look the roof over and tell you straight whether it is sound or near the end of its life. Roofing is not something we do, so if repairs are needed we let you know ahead of the install so you can get them done first.

Is a battery required?

No, panels run fine on their own. A battery keeps chosen circuits powered in an outage and can hold daytime power for use at night. We lay out what one would and would not do in your home, and the choice is yours.

How do panels handle hail?

Panels have tempered glass and are tested against hail, though very large stones can still break them. After a storm we can check your system, photograph any damage and fix what is broken. If you file a homeowners insurance claim, we can walk you through the steps, but the adjuster decides the outcome.

Will you service a system someone else put in?

Yes. Many homeowners call us because their first installer is hard to reach or out of business. We check the panels, wiring and inverter, share photos of what we see and explain the choices before starting any repair or cleaning.

Will I be handed off between several people?

No. You have one contact from the first visit through the last cleanup. That person manages the crew, the permit and the utility, and answers when you call.

How long does an install take?

The roof work takes a day or two on most houses. Permits, inspection and utility approval stretch the overall schedule, and we update you as each one clears so you know where things are.
